Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has urged citizens involved in the fighting in eastern Ukraine to return home, ITAR-TASS has reported.
According to Vucic, Belgrade is seriously considering the introduction of punishment for Serbs who are fighting abroad without government permission. Within a month, the respective amendments to legislation will be submitted to the Serbian parliament.
“Wars have ended a long time ago for Serbia and its people. We look to a peaceful future where we think how to become the economically most advanced country in the region in 2016,” he said.
Vucic also said that the state “is closely monitoring the actions of those who took part in the fighting in Ukraine.”
