The President’s Office of Ukraine informed on March 31, 2023, that Russian military shelled the front-line town of Avdiivka, killing two people, including a child born in 2022. Two more civilians are injured.

“Russians shelled Avdiivka with artillery – two people were killed, one of them was a child born in 2022. Two more people were injured. A private house was damaged,” said the Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, in the evening on March 31, 2023, the armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out artillery fire on the city of Avdiivka.
Russian shell hit a private house in which a family of local residents lived. A 69-year-old woman and her 5-month-old grandson died in the fire.
“According to preliminary data, the child’s mother and father, who were in the yard, were also injured. Currently, search and rescue operations are ongoing,” added the police of the Donetsk region.
Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted on criminal proceedings on the fact of violating the laws and customs of war.
