Russians have already committed 22,500 war crimes in Ukraine, – Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine

Russia has committed more than twenty-two thousand five hundred war crimes and crimes of aggression against Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

“According to the latest data, Russian aggressors committed 22,504 crimes of aggression and war crimes. Of them, 21,677 are related to violations of the laws and customs of war, 73 – to planning, preparing, initiating, or waging war, 21 – to the propaganda of war, and 733 other crimes.”

Also, 10,922 crimes against national security were recorded. Of them, 7,606 are related to encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine’s borders, 1,283 – to treason, 1,534 – to collaboration with the enemy, 87 – to assistance to the aggressor power, 64 – to sabotage, and 348 other crimes.

Almost a thousand Ukrainian children were affected by Russian aggression, of whom 347 were killed and 648 were injured.

These numbers are not final, as work is ongoing to establish places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Prosecutors continue to take all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
