“The Russian war destroyed two million hectares of forest in Ukraine in less than six months! Far from every country in the world has such an area of forests that was burned in Ukraine by Russian shelling,” emphasized the President of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that this war had caused an energy crisis that had forced dozens of countries to turn back on coal-fired power generation in order to lower energy prices for their people even a little – because the prices are shockingly rising due to deliberate Russian actions. The Russian war brought to the world an acute food crisis, which most affected those countries suffering from the existing manifestations of climate destruction – catastrophic drought, and large-scale floods.

In general, Ukraine’s President noted that the problems of ecology and climate change would affect everyone.
