Taras Savchenko, the acting head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration informed on April 6, 2023, that about a third of the 5,000 objects destroyed as a result of Russian aggression have been restored in the Sumy region (northeastern Ukraine).

“As of today, about 5,000 different objects have been destroyed on the territory of the Sumy region, and a third of them, about 1,700 objects – have been completely restored,” reported the acting head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
According to Taras Savchenko, about 2,600 private houses are on the list of damaged structures in the Sumy region. Their number continues to grow as a result of continuous shelling by Russian troops of the border communities of the region. There are also destroyed hospitals, educational institutions, apartment buildings, roads and other infrastructure.
“The priority is the restoration of critical infrastructure: energy facilities, water supply, bridges, etc. At the same time, during reconstruction, the level of protection of new buildings is also increased to resist potential Russian attacks,” added the acting head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
