“The IAEA is examining the evidence, and if it is confirmed, the incident will have extremely serious consequences. If Russian missile changed its trajectory, it could seriously affect the physical integrity of nuclear power plants and lead to a nuclear accident.”
According to the IAEA chief, Ukraine has officially informed the IAEA that a video surveillance camera has recorded the flight of missiles directly over the South Ukrainian and Khmelnytskyi NPPs.
He also noted that a report with conclusions on the situation with the nuclear power industry in Ukraine was published.
It is known that out of 15 power units that exist in the country, seven remain in operation, including two at the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhya NPP, two at the Rivne NPP, and one at the Khmelnytskyi NPP, and two at the South Ukrainian NPP.
