Oleksandr Starukh, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration noted that Russian troops intensified actions aimed at terrorizing civilians. At night on January 16, 2023, Russian soldiers hit the Bilenke community with artillery.

A report was received about the destruction of 64 residential buildings and objects of civil infrastructure.
“The number of shelling of the Zaporizhzhia region has increased to 130. In particular, that night the Russian army carried out artillery shelling of the Bilenke community. As a result of 120 mm projectiles hitting the private residential sector, three houses, outbuildings and cars were damaged,” reported the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
Oleksandr Starukh emphasized that civilians were not injured as a result of the Russian shelling.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported earlier that Russian troops shelled more than 15 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
