Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration informed on February 28, 2023, that at night, Russians shelled Sviatohirsk, targeting part of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. According to preliminary information, 1 rescuer was killed, and 4 others were injured.

“This is a conscious and cynical attack not on the military, but on those who help civilians survive even during active hostilities,” said Pavlo Kyrylenko.
In the rest of the region, the situation remains tense along the entire front line.
In particular, the town of Shevchenko of Pokrovsk territorial community came under shelling – 11 houses were damaged, there were no victims.
Pavlo Kyrylenko adds that Vuhledar and Novoukrayinka were under Russian fire in the Volnovakha direction – no information about the victims has been received.
“In the Donetsk region, 1 person was killed and 1 wounded in Kurakhivka – a 2-storey building, 2 private houses and an administrative building were damaged. A house in Vovchenka was also damaged in Kurakhivka community. Artillery shelling was recorded in Marinka, Ocheretynka and Avdiivka communities,” added the head of the Donetsk regional military administration.
In the Horlivka direction, 3 civilians were injured in Kostiantynivka – 7 houses were damaged in the city. 2 more houses were damaged in Ivanopil, there were no victims. It was possible to establish information that at least 2 people were injured in Bakhmut, as well as high-rise buildings, a school and a shop were damaged.
