The police of the Zaporizhzhia region noted on April 17, 2023, that for three days, Russian soldiers opened fire on the territory of Zaporozhzhia and the region with various types of weapons. More than 200 Russian strikes were recorded. 11 of them were fired by S-300 missiles, 9 by air force, 9 by drones, 154 by artillery, and 5 more strikes were made by multiple rocket launchers, including cluster ammunition.

“Using S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, Russians began shelling Zaporizhzhia at night on April 14. The law enforcement officers recorded craters from two rockets in one of the districts of Zaporizhzhia on the territory of the industrial zone. The road surface and windows in nearby buildings were damaged. The following night, Russian soldiers inflicted more nine missile strikes, four hit the city – in the coastal and industrial zones,” reported the police of the Zaporizhzhia region.
The blast wave damaged the territory of the hotel complex, the car wash and the industrial facility.
The other five rockets destroyed civil and residential infrastructure in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 40 houses were damaged by three S-300 missile strikes in the urban-type settlement of Komyshuvakha and several houses were completely destroyed.
In addition, Russian military shelled Zaporizhzhia with a Smerch rocket launcher in the evening on April 16, 2023. As a result, cars and several residential buildings on the territory of the garden association were damaged, and a pet that was in the yard during the shelling was killed by shrapnel.
“There are injured as a result of the armed attack of the Russian army. Three people were hospitalized – a 60-year-old resident of Preobrazhenka and two police officers who were on duty in the territory of the Orikhiv community,” explained the police of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Also, a 55-year-old resident of the village of Lukeanivske turned to the police for help.
