Russia preparing paratroopers rotation in Crimea`s north – border guards

Ukrainian Border Guard Service spokesman Oleh Slobodian says the Russian Federation plans to replace paratroopers from Stavropol, who have been serving in the north of occupied Crimea near the administrative border with mainland Ukraine from August, by paratroopers from Tula.

”Preparations for the immediate rotation of airborne units of the Russian armed forces stationed on the front lines in the north of the annexed Crimean peninsula are being finalized in the Crimean sector,” he said at a briefing on Thursday, according to news outlet Ukrayinska Pravda.

”The battalion task force formed from soldiers of the 247th Airborne Assault Regiment deployed in Stavropol, who have stationed on the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea from the beginning of August this year, will be replaced before the end of this week by the battalion task force from the 106th Airborne Division, which is stationed in the Russian city of Tula,” Slobodian said.
