Russia launched missile strikes on the dam to flood Ukrainian territory: photos

The Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration said that the water level in the Inhulets River rose from 1 to almost 2 meters due to the Russian missile attack on the dam in Kryvyi Rih (the largest city in central Ukraine) on September 14, 2022. As a result, more than a hundred private houses were flooded.

According to the governor, specialists struggled all night with the consequences of the Russian rocket attack on the dam.

“Due to the attack, the water level in various parts of the Inhulets River rose from 1 to almost 2 meters. At the moment, it was managed to lower it by 13 centimeters and it continues to fall.”

Later, the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration wrote that the water level was lowered by 40 centimeters.

He added that 112 private houses and yards were flooded due to the rising water level. Residents whose houses were flooded have been evacuated.

In addition, as a result of the Russian rocket attack, several water pipes were damaged. Almost 5,000 people were left without water. Restoration work is ongoing.

This morning it became known that Russian military used “Kinzhal” and “Iskander” type missiles to attack hydraulic structures on the Inhulets River.

The American Institute for the study of war believes that Russia wanted to hinder the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south of Ukraine striking critical infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

“Russian forces likely targeted Ukrainian hydrotechnical infrastructure in western Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on September 14 to interfere with Ukrainian operations across the Inhulets River.”
