“As of today, as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 149 civilians have died in Mykolaiv, including 2 children. 698 people have been seriously injured, including 10 children,” the Mayor of Mykolaiv emphasized.

Currently, about 220-230 thousand residents remain in Mykolaiv. There were 486,000 of them before the Russian full-scale war against Ukraine.

According to the Mayor, people are now returning, some are taking their winter things and leaving the city again. In addition, Oleksandr Syenkevych noted that residents lived without Russian shelling only for 44 days.

“During the 255 days of the war, Mykolaiv was not shelled for 44 days, all other days we were under siege. That’s why people don’t stay here – they don’t feel safe,” the Mayor of Mykolaiv concluded.
