The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk informed on April 10, 2023, that Russia keeps 4,396 Ukrainian orphans in the temporarily occupied territories and illegally took them to Russian territory. But an international coalition is already being formed for their return of children to Ukraine.

“The Coordination Council for the Protection and Safety of Children under the chairmanship of the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak is working on the formation of an international coalition to return the Ukrainian orphans and punish those guilty of crimes against Ukrainian children,” reported the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories.
The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki and others expressed their public support for such a coalition.
Earlier, Iryna Vereshchuk stated that Ukraine is ready to take orphans deported by Russia from the border of the Russian Federation with any country of the European Union.
