Russia fired at the South Ukraine NPP, missile fell 300 meters from nuclear reactors

The press center of  National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine Energoatom noted that the Russian army launched a missile attack on the industrial zone of the South Ukraine nuclear power plant on September 19, 2022.

“A powerful explosion occurred just 300 m from the reactors of the South Ukraine NPP. The buildings of the NPP were damaged and over 100 windows were broken. One of the hydraulic units of the Oleksandrivska hydroelectric power plant, which is part of the South Ukraine Energy Complex, shut down. Three high-voltage power transmission lines also shut down.”

It is also noted that currently, all three power units of the South Ukraine NPP are operating normally. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the station staff.

“The acts of nuclear terrorism by the Russian army threaten the whole world. They must be stopped immediately in order to prevent a new catastrophe!”
