Residents of Kharkiv (east of Ukraine) reported that there was no light in many areas of the city. Lozova is also without electricity.
Later, the mayor of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov announced that the Russians had struck an infrastructure facility in Kharkiv.
“As a result of the strike, the light went out in many areas of the city. For the same reason, there is no water in the same areas – the pumps have stopped working. This is the Russian aggressor’s vile, cynical vengeance for our successes at the front, and in particular in the Kharkiv area.”
The Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Sinegubov also reported that Russian military struck the critical infrastructure of Kharkiv and the region:
“There is no electricity and water supply in some settlements. Fires broke out at the sites of the hits, and rescuers from the Regional Department of Emergency Situations are localizing the fire. All specialized services are working on the ground and repairing the damage.”
The Dergachi City Council (Kharkiv region) also said that the territory of the community was completely cut off due to the fact that the occupiers struck the objects of critical infrastructure.
Also, there is no water supply in some micro-districts of Poltava, and some locals say there is no electricity supply.
Dmytro Lunin, the Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration said: “Light and water supply in the region will soon be restored. Energy workers are already working.”
There is no electricity supply in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region.
In addition, the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Zhyvytskyy, reported that the voltage in the power grid had dropped throughout the region.
“If possible, I recommend turning off electrical appliances and other household appliances to avoid damage. The electrical system of the region remains unstable due to destruction as a result of enemy bombings in March. Attacks by Russian troops on energy supply facilities in Ukraine are also possible.”
Some cities and communities of the Dnipropetrovsk region were also left without electricity due to Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure.
Several trains to and from Kharkiv, Sumy and Poltava are expected to be delayed due to the Russian shelling of the infrastructure.
Later, it was reported that energy companies are gradually restoring electricity supply in all affected regions.
