Romania will provide Ukraine with $800,000 to strengthen the defense

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Aurescu reported on April 4, 2023, that Romania will provide more than 800,000 dollars to strengthen Ukraine’s defense through NATO’s initiative.

Bogdan Aurescu confirmed that NATO will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary.

“That is why Romania will commit and I will announce tomorrow and today the fact that we will contribute further to the defense capacities building programs of the Alliance, with over 800,000 USD dollars for Ukraine and 750,000 USD dollars for Moldova, in order to improve their defense capacity,” informed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania.

Speaking about the prospects of Ukraine joining NATO, the Minister noted that Romania is a supporter of the “open door policy”.

“We supported the implementation of the decision of the Bucharest Summit in 2008 regarding Ukraine and Georgia, and we will continue to support it,” said Bogdan Aurescu

The head of the Foreign Ministry of Romania emphasized that peace in the Euro-Atlantic space can only be ensured by the victory of Ukraine in the war against Russia.
