Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with representatives of Norway and Sweden during his working visit to the United States to attend the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, D.C., and discussed a joint initiative with them to improve security at Ukrainian nuclear power plants (NPPs).
”The summit was devoted to nuclear security, and we discussed a joint initiative, in which Norway and Sweden will be involved, to improve security at our NPPs and our nuclear energy sector, starting from physical protection to cyber security,” the president said in his interview with Ukrainian TV channels aired on Sunday, April 3.
”Funds are being allocated, we actively take part in the development of these programs and ensure that Ukraine`s nuclear security be significantly stepped up,” the president added.
