The initiative was supported by the majority of deputies in the Polish Sejm, with 231 votes in favor.
The resolution emphasized that “the Russian Federation systematically violates human rights, international law and the United Nations Charter and a number of other obligations, by committing aggression on the territory of other countries, armed attacks, war crimes and genocide, and undertakes hostile economic activities, especially in the field of energy. The forms of terror used by Russia against the citizens of Ukraine are crimes against humanity and genocide.”
The head of the President’s Office of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, reacted to the adoption of the resolution by the Polish Sejm.
“The Polish Sejm recognized the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism. Grateful to our Polish allies for this important decision,” Andriy Yermak tweeted.
The head of the President’s Office of Ukraine also expressed confidence that this “will become a trend among many other countries.”
