The General initially stated that the Kaliningrad region was a territory “under Russian occupation since 1945”.

After that, he stressed that this territory was never Russian, but historically belonged to Prussia and Poland.

“Now we must claim it, as it was before with the recaptured territories. Perhaps it is worth claiming that Kaliningrad district, which, in my opinion, is part of the territory of Poland. We have the right to have claims to the territory occupied by Russia”, Skrzypczak said.

The general also added that the Kaliningrad district had no military significance.

The Russian Federation has already reacted to the statements of the Polish general – the speaker of the Russian Federation Council said that Waldemar Skrzypczak “skipped all the history lessons.”
