Polish company Polenergia International supports the Energy Bridge project, which involves the commissioning of the 750 kV Khmelnitsky NPP – Rzeszow (Poland) overhead transmission line for the resumption of Ukrainian electricity exports, vice president of Polenergia International Grzegorz Stanislawski said during the Energy Congress.
”Ukraine has only a 220 kV transmission line, able to supply 235,000 MW from the Dobrotvirska TPP. There is another line, Khmelnitsky NPP – Rzeszow, which has been out of operation for 25 years. Such situation is a shame for all engineers and businessmen. This energy bridge should be launched and it is necessary to sell electricity… This project is supported by all institutions,” Stanislawski said.
He said that electricity from Ukrainian nuclear power plants could be in demand in the EU countries.
Earlier, in March 2015, state-owned company Energoatom, the operator of all operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine, and Polish company Polenergia International signed an agreement on a project for electricity exports to Europe, which would make it possible to use all available nuclear capacity and more funds to complete the third and fourth reactors of Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant.
