“We need to strengthen Ukraine in the military, economic and humanitarian aspects. By helping Ukraine, we are realizing our common dream of a united continent – from Lisbon to Kyiv.”
He noted that the issue of Ukraine’s quick access to the EU was discussed at the meeting with the Portuguese counterpart.
“If some EU countries protest, Portugal and Poland want to prepare a package that will be attractive to Ukraine and which will show that Kyiv’s place, Ukraine’s place – in the European Union.”
According to him, the destroyed Mariupol is today “a symbol of Ukrainian and European heroism, the struggle for freedom and independence, peace and security.”
“We must remember this because Ukraine needs to give hope for the reconstruction after the war, which must end as soon as possible. Together with Antonio Costa, Prime Minister of Portugal we will give this hope to Ukraine. We will try to make Ukraine’s path to the EU clear and full of concreteness, we are working on this together.”
