The pilot of the Su-25 aircraft shot down on July 23 is alive and is not held captive, Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
“He is not held captive and is alive,” Lysenko said.
However he declined to specify the location of the pilot.
According to him, the militants still boast remnants of the downed aircraft and each time pose them as the new downed Su-25. “Apparently they think they will be paid more bonuses,” Lysenko said.
As reported, on July 29 Ukrainian troops rescued the pilot of one of two downed Su-25 assault aircraft from the territory controlled by terrorists.
