As the Ukrainian Press office of President reported, the ‘Normandy Quartet’ leaders held the telephone conversation on Monday, March 2, 2015.
Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko, Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, France’s President Francois Hollande and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin talked about the ways to end to the violence in Eastern Ukraine:
“The parties have endorsed the Ukrainian proposal to send the OSCE observers to all locations of the ceasefire regime violation, particularly to begin with 10 inhabited localities: Shchastya, Popasna, Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske, Avdiivka, Volnovakha, Hranitne, Luhanske, Shyrokino and the area of Donetsk airport.”
There was discussed also the problem with the work of OSCE mission:
“The interlocutors have emphasized the need for ensuring security and proper working regime for the OSCE inspectors, inter alia, in the context of free verification at the deployment sites of the withdrawn weaponry.
The parties have also agreed on the necessity of publishing daily reports of the OSCE on the violation of the ceasefire regime that will be sent to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of all the countries-participants of the Normandy format.”
One of the urgent topics was liberation of all hostages, especially Nadiya Savchenko who is illegally kept imprisoned in Russia:
“Petro Poroshenko, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande have once again addressed Vladimir Putin with a request to liberate Nadiya Savchenko immediately.
The Ukrainian President has also underlined the necessity of liberation of all hostages illegally kept imprisoned in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as in Russia.”
“In addition, the interlocutors have discussed the problem of delivering Ukrainian and international humanitarian aid to Donbas, the participation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in its distribution and energy issues.
The parties have agreed to hold consultations on Friday at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers to discuss, inter alia, the issue of peacekeepers.”
