“The need for military support to Ukraine is substantial and critical. Effective artillery, including sufficient amounts of ammunition, has proven to be essential in Ukraine’s defense against the Russian invasion.”
The Minister of Defence of Norway says it is vital to have a united front when it comes to supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian troops.
“Donations ensure that the country can defend itself against Russia’s illegal attack. A lot of countries contribute and will continue to do so. That is why it is critical that we are in close dialogue with Ukrainian authorities and that we coordinate Western donations.”
The Norwegian government has also offered to donate an additional NOK 3 billion to Ukraine in 2022. This amount will include the purchase of winter clothing and winter equipment for Ukrainian soldiers worth NOK 250 million.
