The Government of the Netherlands announced on April 3, 2023, the allocation of the first aid package to Ukraine in 2023 for a total amount of 274 million euros.

“The €274 million package comes from the government’s reserve of €2.5 billion for support to Ukraine in 2023. €180 million is earmarked for humanitarian aid, agriculture and rehabilitation work. The remaining €94 million will go to non-lethal support to the Ukrainian armed forces, the fight against impunity and the preservation of cultural heritage,” reported the Government of the Netherlands.
In particular, 20 million euros from the “humanitarian part” of the package will be distributed to humanitarian aid, 10 million euros to mental health and psychosocial support, and the same amount to demining agricultural land.
40 million euros will be directed to the purchase of seeds and equipment for Ukrainian agriculture, and 100 million euros will be allocated to the restoration of hospitals and the health care system, energy supply, housing construction and infrastructure.
“With a contribution of € 75 million, the government aims to provide more intensive support to Ukraine, and to extend this support to future-oriented capacity building for better cooperation between Ukraine and NATO. € 14 million has been made available for the fight against impunity for international crimes,” added the Government of the Netherlands.
In addition, 5 million euros will be spent on protection and preservation of culture that defines the identity of Ukraine.
