NATO Military Committee will discuss the war in Ukraine at its meeting on January 18-19

The Press service of NATO noted on January 2, 2023, that NATO’s highest military body, the Military Committee, would meet on January 18-19 in a face-to-face format in Brussels, Belgium. Among the topics for discussion is the war in Ukraine.

The meeting will be attended by 32 Chiefs of Defense staff who will discuss issues of strategic importance to NATO.

“The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg will join the Military Committee for the first session to provide the latest political objectives and to discuss security challenges facing the Alliance,” said the Press service of NATO.

The Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, General Philippe Lavigne, will chair the second session, which will focus on the situation in Ukraine, as well as accelerating the implementation of the NATO Warfighting Capstone Concept and the Warfare Development Agenda.

“The final session will see the Military Committee discuss NATO’s ongoing support to Ukraine,” added the Press service of NATO.

A meeting of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) operational partners – Austria, Armenia, Ireland, Moldova, Ukraine, Finland, Switzerland, and Sweden is also planned.
