The Head of the War Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, Yuriy Belousov noted on March 14, 2023, that prosecutors have already recorded 71,147 war crimes committed by troops of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

“As of this morning, if we are talking about the last year, we have 71,147 war crimes [committed by Russian troops in Ukraine – ed.],” reported the Head of the War Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
Yuriy Belousov informed that the prosecutor’s office has served 293 Russians with a notice of suspicion.
“These are individuals whom we have identified and established their involvement in committing a specific war crime. This is a wide range, from shelling of civilian objects to sexual violence, murder of Ukrainian citizens, torture and other types of war crimes,” said the Head of the War Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
Yuriy Belousov noted that the cases of 105 people have been sent to court, and 29 war crimes verdicts have already been handed down by national courts.
“210 prosecutors in Ukraine are investigating war crimes committed by the Russian Federation,” concluded the Head of the War Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
