According to the Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy in Ukraine, as a result of the hostilities, huge areas of land are still unusable.

“According to the latest information from regional military administrations, we are talking about 5 million hectares of agricultural land that need to be inspected and may be contaminated,” informed Oleksandr Haydu.

The Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy noted that due to mines or dangerous objects in agricultural land, it is impossible to sow it, and this directly affects the country’s food stability.

“Our primary task is to create conditions for de-mining the land of small and medium-sized farmers with the help of international partners, who are unable to do it on their own,” emphasized Oleksandr Haydu.
