According to Serhiy Bolvinov, the bodies were buried separately.
“I can say that this is one of the largest mass burial in a liberated city, it has more than 440 graves.”
The Head of the investigative department of the police of the Kharkiv region noted that all bodies will be exhumed and sent for forensic examination.
“We know that some were killed [shot – ed.], some died from artillery fire, so-called mine-explosive injuries. Some died from airstrikes. The causes of death have not been determined for many bodies, so they will still be identified”
The Commissioner for Missing Persons Oleg Kotenko said that Russian soldiers published a video of this burial in Izyum, that is why the Ukrainian forces were looking for it.
“And there’s a register somewhere, which will help us to know where this body was taken for burial. I believe we will find the lists and be able to identify these people and explain why they were given numbers and not surnames But there are surnames, and there are wreaths, and the date of death is also on some of them. Most, I think, died under shelling, we already understood that from the dates: people were killed when Russian troops opened fire on the city,” Kotenko said.
