The minister emphasized that the training of specialists for the use of modern weapons increases their effectiveness, therefore it plays a very important role in modern warfare and helps Ukraine effectively defend itself against the aggressor – Russia.
“That’s why we want to emphasize this help in training specialists – not from scratch at all, but specialists and their qualifications for weapons that are used by both the Ukrainians and the Lithuanian army.”
Specialists will be trained in Lithuania. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that during the 6 months of the Russian war in Ukraine, almost 150 military personnel were trained in Lithuania. The minister also added that Lithuania sent military equipment to Ukraine two weeks ago.
“In this case, we are ahead of other countries with such consistent deliveries. Not once every three or six months, but almost every month.”
The head of the Ministry of Defense noted that the total amount of Lithuanian aid to Ukraine may amount to “up to 130 million euros”. Lithuania handed Ukraine military trucks, off-road vehicles for demining, anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons, mortars and other military aid.
