Lithuania provides Ukraine with €2M for the reconstruction of the energy system

The head of the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania, Arvydas Anusauskas noted on November 27, 2022, on Twitter that Ukraine would receive another 2 million euros from his country to restore the energy sector, damaged as a result of massive missile strikes by the Russian Federation.

According to the Minister of Defense of Lithuania, Lithuania has already sent Ukraine 6 trucks with 114 transformers.

“In recent days 6 trucks with 114 transformers were sent from Lithuania to Ukraine. In total, Lithuania intends to provide 252 transformers. Lithuanian energy companies have already sent 3 million € worth of  support for the reconstruction of the energy sector of Ukraine and 2 more million € worth of support is sent now,” wrote the Minister of Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anusauskas.

The losses of Ukrenergo (an electricity transmission system operator in Ukraine) due to Russian missile attacks amount to more than 70 billion hryvnias.

The Russian Federation damaged almost all thermal power plants and hydroelectric power stations in Ukraine.
