The largest Japanese refiner Eneos Holdings does not plan to buy Russian oil until all problems related to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will be resolved. The company has found alternative supplies from the Middle East.

“Currently, we intend to obtain alternatives from existing trading partners such as Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait, but we will continue putting our efforts to diversify our oil sources to reduce dependence on the Middle East in the future,” Sugimori said.
