Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said on December 30, 2022, that during December 2022, foreign governments and non-governmental organizations provided Ukraine with about 5,000 generators to meet humanitarian needs. Another 8,000 are expected to arrive in early 2023.

“Russian troops have been defeated on the battlefield, and because of that they are fighting against the objects of the civil infrastructure of Ukraine. However, this only consolidates the international community in supporting our people. The world stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and helps them get through the difficult winter of 2022/23. During December, about 5,000 generators were allocated, at the beginning of the year we expect 8,000 additional generators of various capacities,” noted the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
Oleksandr Kubrakov added that the generators were distributed according to the requests and needs of the regions – to ensure the operation of critical infrastructure facilities, “Points of Invincibility”, health care and education facilities, etc. The allocation of equipment took place with the assistance and cooperation of the European Commission, and the Emergency Response Coordination Center (ERCC).
