IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi wrote on Twitter on November 29, 2022, that the IAEA will strengthen its presence in all nuclear power plants of Ukraine – the agency believes that this will strengthen the protection of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

“With the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, we continue working together towards the urgent establishment of a nuclear safety & security protection zone around Zaporizhzhia NPP. I also confirmed that the IAEA will strengthen its presence in all Ukraine’s NPPs to protect its energy infrastructure,” wrote Rafael Grossi.
Dmytro Kuleba also wrote that he discussed the situation at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP with the head of the IAEA.
“I started my visit to Bucharest with the meeting of the IAEA Secretary General Rafael Grossi. We discussed the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, including the security of the Ukrainian personnel. I reiterated that Russia must withdraw from ZNPP to restore nuclear safety and security,” wrote Ukrainian Foreign Minister.
