Head of the National Bank Valeria Hontareva intends to reduce the NBU staff several times.
She told reporters Friday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Changes in the NBU will not be cosmetic, they will touch on the non-core assets, and others. We are very systemically engaged in this,” Hontareva said, adding that the NBU staff is fivefold larger.
The NBU governor noted that the Ukrainian agency is consulted by the Central Bank of Canada in this issue, but at the same time, “total world experience of existence of central banks is studied.”
According to Hontareva, reforms in the National Bank concern all without exception processes.
First, the NBU will get rid of non-core structures, in particular, the TV channel and the sports complex, she stressed.
