Russian oil tankers continue to enter European ports. Greece helps Russia to circumvent sanctions imposed by the EU.
It is noted that Greek shipowners are expanding their business with Russia. The share of Greece in the transportation of Russian oil has tripled in April compared to 2021. According to the insurance company Lloyd’s, a total of 190 tankers left Russian ports in April. 76 of them are under the Greek flag.
For example, the Greek supertanker Nissos Rhenia loaded Russian oil at a port in the Netherlands and headed for Singapore in late April. The number of shipments to India, China, and South Korea also increased.
According to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Russia exports 7 million barrels of oil and petroleum products daily.
