According to her estimates, the EU needs to accept about 8 million Ukrainian refugees.
Just two weeks ago, EU High Representative for foreign policy Josep Borrel said that 5 million refugees are expected from Ukraine.
According to the UN, 10 million people have fled their homes in Ukraine due to Russia’s devastating war – either within Ukraine or as refugees abroad.
“I think we should be very aware that more than three million people have already fled, but many, many millions are still fleeing,” – she said.
