The Ukrainian government appealed to General Motors with a request of providing large vehicles to evacuate people from combat zones. The company has decided to provide Ukraine with 50 Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs. The cars arrived from the United States in Rzeszów, Poland, and from there they were transported to Ukraine and sent to the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“The vehicles will be used to assist with humanitarian aid in the region. The decision to donate vehicles was made following a request from the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington.”
“Besides the donation of the 50 SUVs, GM has given $250,000 to date to support humanitarian aid in the region and matched U.S. employee contributions up to $50,000 to specific nonprofit organizations. The match was reached in less than four days, ” Svigos said.
