“We, as the G7, have made it absolutely clear once again today: we will not stop supporting Ukraine: neither during the holidays, nor in the new year – as long as Russia is waging this illegal, brutal war of aggression,” Annalena Bearbock emphasized.

According to the German Foreign Minister, the priority now is to strengthen the air defense of Ukraine, because every missile that hits means less light for Ukrainians.

“That’s why we agreed today during the G7 virtual meeting to intensify our cooperation in the field of air defense, because air defense saves lives,” said the head of the German Foreign Ministry.

The issue, Annalena Bearbock clarified, is about the supply of air defense systems and ammunition for them to Ukraine.

The diplomat reminded that Germany had already handed over to Ukraine the first high-tech modern installation IRIS-T, as well as Gepard self-propelled guns. She also welcomed the decision of the US government to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Patriot systems.
