The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen wrote on Twitter on December 27, 2022, that the European Union had sent more than 77,000 tons of aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and Europe’s solidarity would only grow with time.

“Since February, the European Union has shipped over 77,000 tonnes of in-kind assistance to Ukraine. This includes life-saving supplies such as medicine, food, shelter items. As well as fire-fighting vehicles and mobile hospitals. Europe’s solidarity with Ukraine is only growing stronger,” noted the President of the European Commission.
In addition, EU countries have accepted millions of Ukrainian refugees on their territory since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The EU has allocated more than 19 billion euros in aid to Ukraine this year and agreed to provide macro-financial assistance (MFA+) in the amount of 18 billion euros in 2023.
