EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn has said that the European Union will experience serious problems due to the loss of confidence if Ukraine does not get its visa-free regime with the bloc, according to Europeiska Pravda.
At a technical and political level, the EU acknowledged that Ukraine had fulfilled all the requirements for the provision of a visa-free regime, he said at a meeting with journalists in Brussels, Europeiska Pravda reports.
According to Hahn, 144 criteria have been met and the electronic declaration was a huge step forward.
At the same time, he emphasized that the task set by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker was very ambitious.
He added that the main question was to have a political will to this end as all technical aspects can be resolved very simply.
Earlier, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said that he considered it possible to take a decision on the introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukraine until the end of the year.
