Erdogan ratifies agreement with Russia on gas pipeline bypassing Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signed a law on ratification of the agreement with Russia on the construction of the Turkish Stream as pipeline, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the Turkish president`s press service.

”Turkish Stream involves the construction of two lines with a pumping capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas,” the report says.

It is noted that the first line is provided for supplying gas to the Turkish market, the second one is for the transit of fuel to Europe. It is planned that the project will be completed in December 2019.

Turkish-Russian intergovernmental agreement for the project of the Turkish Stream pipeline was signed in Istanbul on October 10.

As reported earlier, on December 2, the Turkish Parliament adopted a law to ratify the agreement with Russia on the construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline bypassing Ukraine.

The ratification of the document was supported by 210 deputies, seven were against and six abstained.
