”DPR”, ”LPR” leaders decide to hand over to Ukraine two captive women through Savchenko

The so-called leaders of the ”LPR” and ”DPR” Igor Plotnytsky and Alexander Zakharchenko have stated their readiness to release two Ukrainian women from militant captivity and convey them to the Ukrainian with the mediation of Ukrainian MP Nadia Savchenko.

Following Ukraine`s move to release 15 Donbas convicts, the militant leaders announced that on the New Year`s eve they decided to ”unconditionally convey two women, Anzhelika Presniakova and Olha Svorak” to Ukrainian side, emphasizing specifically that they were intending to do so with the mediation of Nadia Savchenko, ”hoping to intensify the process of rescuing our citizens from captivity, with the hope that in the coming year, they will reunite with their families and friends,” a pro-militant website quoted the statement.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Nadia Savchenko December 7 secretly visited Minsk where she met with the leaders of terrorist organizations ”DPR” and ”LPR”. Advisor to the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine Yuriy Tandit said that Savchenko had not warned the agency about her upcoming visit to Minsk for a meeting with the militant leaders.

According to the MP, the meeting ”was aimed at strengthening the Minsk format and making it more effective in the near future.”

In addition, Savchenko stressed that she had traveled to Minsk without a diplomatic passport.

” I only use my diplomatic passport for trips, where I am sent by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. I traveled with a national Ukrainian passport,” she said.

The Batkivshchyna Party, to which Savchenko was a member, stated that the MP does not coordinate her actions with the party leadership and instead, takes part in the new political project.

It soon became known that Nadia Savchenko had quit Batkivshchyna.
