Croatia allocated €1M for the purchase of generators for Ukrainian schools and hospitals

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia noted on January 26, 2023, that Croatia has allocated 1 million euros in financial aid to Ukraine, which will be used to purchase about 50 powerful generators through UNICEF to ensure the uninterrupted operation of Ukrainian hospitals and schools.

“On January 26, the Government of Croatia decided to allocate financial aid in the amount of 1 million euros for the urgent needs of restoring the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, in particular for the purchase and delivery to Ukraine of about 50 power generators with a capacity of 100 kW in order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of hospitals and schools,” informed the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia.

The humanitarian project will be implemented through the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Croatia plans to conclude a relevant agreement with UNICEF in the coming days and transfer the mentioned financial aid. As noted in the ministry, UNICEF’s purchase of electric generators and their delivery to Ukraine is planned as soon as possible.
