Britain, which is less dependent on Russian energy than its continental neighbors, said the fast-growing green sector could help other countries reduce their dependence on Russian oil and gas.
“This terrible conflict in Ukraine has highlighted what can be achieved through a cohesive global approach. It has also reminded the world that we must deputinize the world economy. These last months have shown the need to accelerate our path as a global community of hydrocarbons, to resolutely turn away from the era of dependence on polluting fuels, and move to a future with a zero value.”
In her speech, Trevelyan will announce guarantees of loans for green businesses worth almost 190 million pounds and to hold an exhibition of green trade and investment in the northeast of England in the autumn.
