“Today, I can announce the most significant package of combat power to date to accelerate Ukrainian success. This includes a squadron of Challenger 2 tanks with armoured recovery and repair vehicles,” noted Ben Wallace.
According to the British Minister of Defence, the military aid package for Ukraine included a squadron of Challenger 2 tanks, eight AS-90 self-propelled guns (while the other two batteries will arrive gradually), 100 pieces of armoured vehicles, including the FV430 Bulldog, a 28 million pound demining package, dozens of UAVs, 100,000 artillery shells, hundreds of “advanced missiles”, including the Starstreak, as well as spare parts for hundreds of Ukrainian tanks and armoured vehicles.
Ben Wallace added that Britain would transfer part of the tanks and self-propelled guns from its reserves, and would buy a part.
