Britain and Ukraine will establish digital trade

UK Secretary of State for International Trade said on August 23, 2022, that Britain and Ukraine had announced their intention to conclude an agreement on digital trade, the purpose of which will be to help Ukraine’s capital Kyiv restore the economy.

It is noted that on August 23, the Minister of International Trade of Great Britain Anne-Marie Trevelyan met with the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain Vadym Prystaiko in London, during which the British side announced the country’s intention to start negotiations on this issue.

“The Digital Trade Agreement will be aimed at supporting Ukrainian businesses by removing bureaucratic delays and helping them trade more efficiently with Great Britain using technologies such as electronic transactions, electronic signatures and electronic contracts,” the British government’s press service explained.

As reported by the British Ministry of Trade, in 2020 the export of digital services accounted for almost three-quarters of the British export of services to Ukraine.
