The Azov Regiment stated that the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol had been destroyed by heavy bombs and that many people were trapped.

“It was our improvised hospital. Heavy bombs were dropped on the Azovstal steelworks, and now many people are under the rubble. Azovstal was bombed and almost completely destroyed. We are pulling people out of the rubble.”
He stressed that the defenders of Mariupol would fight to the last remaining patron, but he called on the Motherland to save civilians, and the wounded and take away the bodies of the dead.
Serhiy Taruta, the former governor of the Donetsk region, also reported the bombing of the hospital, where he said 300 people, including wounded troops and civilians with children, were sheltered.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine released an audio interception of a phone call in which a Russian serviceman spoke about the order of the leadership to raze the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol to the ground.
