On January 3, 2017, the OSCE Chairman Sebastian Kurz arrived to Ukraine and visited Donetsk Region to exam personally the state of Minsk agreements’ fulfilment, the social and economic situation in the region caused by the military aggression of Russia against Ukraine, as well as the implementation of charitable projects with the participation of Austrian humanitarian organizations.

On January 4, 2017, on his official Twitter Sebastian Kurz writes that Austria provides additional 2 million € for humanitarian aid to the people in eastern Ukraine, pointing ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) and Caritas Austria that provides medical and health services to people in Eastern Ukraine.
