The State Education Quality Service surveyed 315 teaching staff abroad about whether they plan to return to Ukraine before the start of the school year.

According to the survey, 87% of teachers said that they plan to return to Ukraine, in particular, 14% – before the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year, if offline training is resumed in the educational institution where they work. 11.4% of teachers have not yet decided about returning to Ukraine. The decision to return home is influenced, in particular, by the continuation of hostilities, the lack of housing, the psychological state of one’s own children, and the decrease in wages in Ukraine. 1.6% of respondents said that they do not plan to return to Ukraine due to a lack of housing and family circumstances. Among the respondents currently abroad, 13 teachers (4.1%) resigned from their jobs.
The majority of interviewed teachers (70%) note that the quality of distance learning during the war has deteriorated, in particular, due to the possibility of communicating in connection with shelling and air raids.
The largest number of respondents is in Poland – 93 people (29.5% of the total number of respondents), in Germany – 85 people (27%), the Czech Republic – 20 people (6.3%).
